ECOPIXEL “AUDIO” a new sound-absorbing material made from RECYCLED PLASTICS
ECOPIXEL recently developed a new range of materials based on a multiple layer concept. With multiple layer materials it is possible to create a single material that deliberately builds up in different layers. Different layers with different densities or even different structural qualities can be combined. Among many possibilities it was possible to deliberately create a sound-absorbing material in one and the same material* (therefor a true circular material). Due to a softer roughly shaped inner layer and a higher densified “stiffer” outer layer, this new material was created resulting a high sound absorbing capacity. The ECOPIXEL “audio” material showed to be ideal for loudspeaker enclosures especially since ECOPIXEL can be shaped in any design, often including all detailing needed to meet all acoustical requests.
Together with Sound Engineer Joseph Szall, Italo/Hungarian specialist, the ECOPIXEL “AUDIO” material was especially tested on loudspeaker enclosures resulting a truly interesting research leading to a spherical-speaker project.

The project lead to an interesting vented Bluetooth speaker that finds its place in between the high-end wireless speaker-systems offering top-quality sound in a stylish, medium priced, quality home speaker system. In this first edition ECOPIXEL chooses for a simple Bluetooth system in order to enjoy high quality music “without instructions”.
Unlike most wireless speaker systems EYE is played in mono application directly from any Bluetooth device. EYE does not have a battery and needs to be plugged in when played. EYE was developed to meet the highest sound expectations of the listener that wants to directly connect Bluetooth device to sound in the simplest way.
ITALIAN COAXIAL HQ SPEAKER UNIT
Using a state of the art, latest generation, Italian-made coaxial speaker-unit, featuring a neodymium 1,5” treated silk dome-tweeter and a 5,5” rubber surround double asymmetric damped cone woofer (DAR), a flat frequency response from 60Hz to well over 20Khz at 91dB +/- 2dB was achieved. The incredibly clean bass response was obtained thanks to the ECOPIXEL “AUDIO” material enclosure that without any other extra sound absorbing internal materials translates the electrical input into a warm but firm and especially clean bass-sound. The vented pipe is “dressed” inside with a second internal pipe resulting the clean bass-response. The especially developed 6/12dB crossover filter divides woofer from tweeter at 3.500Hz. The sphere-enclosure, known for decades as the perfect shape for any speaker-system, vented with a symmetrical-axissed rear bass-reflex.
